SEYMOUR LOFTS MARKED TWG’S 16TH AND FINAL CLOSING OF 2021
Seymour, IN — TWG (www.twgdev.com), a national real estate development company specializing in commercial, market rate, affordable and senior housing developments, today announces the closing of Seymour Lofts, a $10.8 million affordable, multifamily property coming to Seymour, Indiana.
Seymour Lofts will help fill the void of quality affordable housing in Jackson County’s southeast side. The multifamily project is designed for working families with two-bedroom and three-bedroom floor plans, and is located across the street from Brown Elementary school. The 50 total units will target those families who make an annual salary of $30,000 to $40,000.
THE STATE OF INDIANA LACKS OVER 100,000 AFFORDABLE HOUSING UNITS, AND TO KEEP UP WITH THIS HIGH DEMAND WE HOPE THAT SEYMOUR LOFTS GIVES THESE DESERVING FAMILIES A PLACE TO CALL HOME WHILE WORRYING LESS ABOUT THEIR MONTHLY RENTAL PAYMENTS,” SAID TRAVIS VENCEL, DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR AT TWG. “CAPPING OFF 2021 WITH SEYMOUR LOFTS SHOWS THE TREMENDOUS WORK TWG HAS DONE OVER THE PAST YEAR. DESPITE THE OBSTACLES FACED, WE STOOD FIRM IN OUR MISSION AND COMMITMENT TO PROVIDING HIGH-QUALITY, SAFE HOUSING FOR COMMUNITIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY AND RIGHT HERE IN OUR STATE.
Owner and non-profit partner Midwest Support Foundation, the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA), The Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis, and support from the City of Seymour were all crucial parties in bringing the project to life.
THE CITY OF SEYMOUR HAS THE LARGEST EMPLOYER BASE IN JACKSON COUNTY AND THE CONTINUED NEED FOR HOUSING REMAINS IN SHORT SUPPLY. SEYMOUR LOFTS WILL PROVIDE APARTMENTS FOR FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS WITH LOWER TO MODERATE INCOMES,” SAID ANDREA KENT, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AT MIDWEST SUPPORT FOUNDATION, INC. “WE ARE EXCITED TO NOT ONLY OFFER HOUSING, BUT ALSO PARTNER WITH LOCAL SERVICE PROVIDERS TO CONNECT, GROW, AND SERVE THE NEEDS OF OUR FUTURE RESIDENTS.
Located in Seymour’s Opportunity Zone, a federally designated area targeting low-income areas for development, the property will include outdoor amenities such as a playground and clubhouse. Construction for Seymour Lofts began in late December 2021.
Since inception, TWG has closed 98 properties in states all across the nation. Seymour Lofts served as the company’s final closing of 2021.
