West Haven, UT — TWG, a real estate development company specializing in commercial, market rate, affordable and senior housing developments, today announces the development of Residences at West Haven, a new affordable senior housing project in West Haven, Utah.

Located at 1110 West Shady Brook Lane, the nearly 38,000 square foot, three-story property will consist of 40 one-bedroom units affordably priced for seniors aged 62 and older. Priority will be given to residents who are military veterans, and a number of units will also be reserved for local seniors with disabilities or suffering from homelessness. There is currently a nationwide homelessness crisis, and U.S. veterans are at a greater risk of experiencing it. By providing a stabilized and affordable environment, homeless or at-risk veterans are able to return to self-sufficiency. All units are reserved for seniors who earn between 30% and 80% of the area median income (AMI).

“This new development propels our mission to assist more people in finding safe and affordable housing in Weber County,” said Weber Housing Authority Executive Director Andi Beadles. “We strive to promote personal, economic and social upward mobility. Through this partnership with TWG, Weber Housing Authority is able to support local senior residents’ success and wellbeing.” The Weber Housing Authority was formed with the mission to assist families and individuals in seeking and obtaining affordable, decent, safe and sanitary housing in Weber County.

The $9.5 million development marks TWG’s first property in the state of Utah and will feature numerous amenities such as a computer room, in-unit laundry, raised garden beds, on-site storage, bike racks and a community fitness center. Construction began this month, and the project is anticipated to be completed in Fall 2022.

“We are honored to continue to expand our nationwide presence with TWG’s first property in the Utah market,” said TWG Acquisitions Director Ryan Kelly. “Residences at West Haven is an important project for TWG, and will offer local seniors more affordable living options in the West Haven community.”

TWG was awarded a low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) from the Utah Housing Corporation to develop this project. The project also includes support from numerous key partners, such as the Weber Housing Authority, Raymond James, Olene Walker Housing Loan Fund, Horizon Bank and Rocky Mountain Community Reinvestment Corporation.
