Affordable housing development in south Fort Collins takes next steps toward reality

TWG proposes new one- to four-bedroom affordable project in Colorado.

Renderings of 1- to 4-bedroom homes planned as affordable housing in south Fort Collins.

The potential developer of 60 income-restricted homes in south Fort Collins is pushing forward with the project on 5 acres of land currently owned by the city.

Indiana-based TWG Development LLC met with city officials in early June to discuss preliminary plans for 58 to 60 one- to four-bedroom homes on South Kechter Road that will remain permanently affordable.

The city plans to sell 5 acres from its land bank program to TWG at a reduced rate. In exchange, TWG will build and sell the units.

TWG acquisition director Ryan Kelly said the land cost will not be nailed down until his company provides a final plan and they won’t close on the land until it gets development approval.
